We are seeking a reliable and motivated Mobile Emergency Vehicle Technician to join our team.
Qualifications:
- Training is provided, however, applicants with automotive, heavy duty, millwright or apprentices preferred.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license with Q endorsement.
- Must be able to travel to the US for manufacturer training.
Under the responsibility of the Mobile Service Manager, the technician will:
- Apply all principles relating to health and safety at work, including site-specific rules required by our customers.
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain fire trucks and other equipment.
- Work cooperatively in the field with the Service Technician under the Mobile Service Manager’s direction.
- Engage in extensive travel to required locations.
Specific tasks:
- Execute with great care repairs, inspections, storage, handling, or other work on equipment entrusted to you by our customers or RMP.
- Inspect equipment to establish or confirm a diagnosis of a mechanical or electrical defect.
- Utilize computerized diagnostic devices and perform various tests to observe mechanical and electrical systems.
- Define the work to be performed on any equipment and submit the deficiency list to the Mobile Service Coordinator for estimating.
- Repair and/or replace defective parts or components of equipment.
- Test and calibrate repaired systems according to NFPA Standard, the manufacturer's specifications, RMP standards, and/or customer preferences.
- Perform periodic and preventive maintenance operations, including but not limited to pumps, transfer cases, and electrical components.
- Complete reports to record the work performed, which will be used for client billing purposes.
- Discuss with customers the repairs made, the general condition of the equipment in question, and mention any potential repairs to come.
- Explain any discrepancy between the work performed and the preliminary repair diagnosis.
- Respect the deadlines established for carrying out repairs and/or maintenance operations and advise of any delay in the schedule so an estimate can be prepared or revised.
- Minimize the disadvantages that our customers are likely to experience and be proactive.
- Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy at all times to all clients.
- Once repairs have been made and tested, ensure they have been completed to the customer's satisfaction.
- Provide advice to customers on the everyday use and maintenance of their equipment.
Other tasks required by the Mobile Service Technician:
- Operate and maintain the service vehicle and equipment assigned to the technician.
- Complete a logbook and operate a service vehicle in accordance with Canadian Hours of Service Regulations.
- Attend all training required by Rocky Mountain Phoenix, MSA, Rosenbauer, or other equipment manufacturers.
- Obtain and maintain EVTCC certification as required by Rocky Mountain Phoenix.
- Complete and supply all required paperwork to the support staff at Rocky Mountain Phoenix in a timely fashion, including but not limited to time sheets/calendar, repair/estimate reports, and work orders.
Salary:
$60,000.00-$65,000.00 annually (overtime available)
