DAY SHIFT - This is a MOBILE TECHNICIAN role providing support throughout the St. Catharines and Hamilton market.

310T Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

  1. Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
  2. Accurately diagnose malfunctions and perform the necessary repairs for them including but not limited to repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components as required
  3. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  4. Verifies vehicle serviceability and ensures quality repairs the first time by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems as required
  5. Ensures that customer vehicles are kept clean during the repair process
  6. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options for repairs as required
  7. Communicates with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed
  8. Aids service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way necessary to guarantee customer satisfaction
  9. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt of parts and supplies
  10. Maintains a clean, efficient work area and assists in keeping the shop neat and organized
  11. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with standard operating procedures
  12. Understands the terminology of the automobile business and keeps abreast of technology changes in the product
  13. Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standards
  14. Follows the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
  15. Understands and follows all work rules and follows directions from Supervisors
  16. Upholds the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies
  17. Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company policy
  18. Attends pertinent training on request
  19. Attends company meetings as required

310T Diesel Mechanic Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or the equivalent GED.
  2. Must possess Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T. Current and in good standing with membership/registration with respective Government Agencies. Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses preferred.
