The Opportunity:

Our client is expanding and looking for an experienced Mobile Application Developer (Android / iOS) to join their stellar team.

The iOS/Android Mobile Application Developer handles development using Java, Objective-C, and various open source frameworks and technologies. Responsibilities include design, development, and implementation of large and small scale mobile projects using Agile methodologies for a variety of our clients. You will lead large and small development efforts for various mobile product efforts and customer projects. This position will have responsibility for designing and developing features and implementing cutting edge solutions using technologies and frameworks such as: Android, Cocoa Touch, HTML5 / JavaScript, Flex, AIR, Objective-C, Java, Design Patterns, XML, JSON, SQLITE.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal development team to design and develop code, test and document native applications on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Develop, enhance, maintain, document, and otherwise support mobile applications using cases, business process flows, UI design, and UML modeling, following prescribed standards and development methodologies.
  • Work with internal ad hoc product development team to design, code, test, and document new features and applications; work with other developers to develop functionality following existing style and coding standards.
  • Interact with customers and prospects to review designs, demo prototypes and address issues.
  • Provide technical support to internal clients.
  • Understand system architecture with an eye to scalability and efficiency.
  • Ensure development projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to specification.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience developing enterprise or client facing applications for mobile devices, including hands-on experience with both native and mobile web applications on iPhone/iPad, Android, Blackberry SDK, Windows Phone; experience with mobile device management, application deployment and support strongly desired.
  • Hands on development experience with rich user interface technologies for mobile. Implementation experience of software design patterns and best practices applicable to mobile development.
  • Deep working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with client side application scripting, e.g., JavaScript.
  • Experience with Java including Java/J2ME, Objective-C, HTML, XML, CSS, web services and databases.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Subversion; comfort with OOP coding principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think logically.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and testing best practices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to manage one's own time efficiently.
  • Experience with quality control and usability, and version control.
  • Must be proactive, self-directed, organized, detail-oriented, and a quick learner.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with Scrum process an asset.
  • A passion for mobile applications.
  • Must be willing and able to work in the US for a period of roughly 4 to 6 weeks duration.
