Mission Planner / Airspace Operations

The RQ-4 Operations and Airspace Planning Systems Support compiles information to help make decisions regarding military strategy. Analysts may work in the field interpreting data about enemy operations, or they may evaluate broader military processes in consulting positions. Responsibilities will include:

1. Researching and modeling military systems performance and operations;
2. Developing analytical methods and tools to facilitate analyses;
3. Executing trade studies;
4. Performing data analytics & statistical analysis;
5. Developing effective presentations that succinctly communicate results and findings.

HOW AN OPERATIONS ANALYST ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT :

1. Coordinating airspace access for RQ4 / RPA Operations with FAA authorities, affected air traffic control facilities, and host nation civil / military airspace authorities.
2. Preparing background papers, briefings, staff packages, CONOPS, AFIs, and strategic planning documents including presentations.
3. Researching military systems performance and operations.
4. Participating in the Global Hawk System Safety Group as ACC ops representative.
5. Assisting in development of exercise requirements and objectives to ensure system capabilities are appropriately employed in each scenario.
6. Promoting safe and efficient use of airspace, increasing effectiveness at all levels.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED :

1. BA / BS degree or 4 years relevant work experience in lieu of education (may be the combination of active duty, government service and / or contractor).
2. 8+ years of relevant work experience.
3. TS / SCI clearance is required.
4. Knowledge of RQ-4 system, performance, capabilities, mission planning, and concept of operations.
5. Knowledge of airspace management and air traffic control procedures.

DESIRED :

1. Military rated pilot expertise in manned or unmanned aircraft.
2. Experience in reconnaissance operations, RQ4 / RPA systems or operational airborne ISR mission area.

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $133,973. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
