Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.
Reporting to the Mining Supervisor, the successful candidate will safely carry out development work while following safe work procedures to provide overall production and safe target support for the Red Lake Madsen Mine team. This position will work a 14 days on and 14 days off schedule.
The focus of this role will include:
Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines
Achieve production and development targets by operating equipment to undertake drilling activities in a safe and efficient manner
Assist with other areas of operation such as Service crew, long hole drill and mucking operation
Utilize mobile equipment and tools with due consideration for safety and environmental issues
Work collaboratively with mining engineers, geologists and the survey team
Utilize reliable and accurate operational and practical knowledge to minimize downtime and potential loss of production
Maintain work area with excellent standard of housekeeping and hazard identification system
Complete administrative processes on equipment
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
Experience in underground hard rock techniques including level development and installation of ground support
Proven knowledge of charging, firing, mucking and trucking of development headings
Be physically fit to work underground
Ability to work independently
Excellent proven team player approach to work
Valid driver’s license
High School Diploma an asset
