Job description

Reporting to the IT Supervisor, you will be part of the Information Technology Department. You will be responsible for maintaining the technology function that drives the Fleet Management Systems of the Mine Production Fleet, focusing on the Detour Lake Mine Site, including but not limited to technologies such as LTE WPN, VHF Voice, GPS, and Sat Networks to meet key performance indications for the Mine Operations group. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and measure the performance of LTE Networks, Wi-Fi, VHF Radio Systems, GPS Systems, and SAT networks, focusing on key performance metrics such as signal strength and uptime;
  • Provide technical support, including troubleshooting and maintenance, for mining systems such as Wenco, Cradlepoint, I-Track, Trimble, and XM Radio;
  • Install, test, and repair communications, network, and data cable systems on Shovel/Haul & Drilling Equipment, as well as infrastructure buildings;
  • Liaise with the Mine Operations team to ensure systems are optimally maintained;
  • Establish and maintain contact with vendors for support and problem resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree from a Technical program in communication or networking;
  • Minimum five years’ related experience in a related field or similar field;
  • Intermediate to expert understanding of Wi-Fi Mesh and/or LTE networks, GPS Systems, VHF radio systems;
  • Proven commitment to health, safety, and the environment;
  • High level of integrity and accountability;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of personnel;
  • Fleet Management Systems knowledge is a strong asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
