Job Title: Mine Operations Labourer

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Operations Labourer to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Operations Labourer is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of various labour tasks required around the mine site.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

1. Operate a light vehicle up to a 1-ton pickup to travel to and between different work areas in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies, and procedures.
2. Operate various hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner.
3. Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
4. Maintain a high level of housekeeping of the vehicle as well as work areas while performing various tasks.
5. Conduct pre-operational checks of the light vehicles and other support equipment such as light plants and pumps.
6. Complete logbooks and daily reports on delays.
7. Use two-way radio, hand, and horn signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.

9. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EDUCATION:

1. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a mining or industrial setting
2. Valid driver’s license
3. Prior experience in an industrial or mining setting is an asset
4. Heavy Equipment Operator Training or pertinent experience is an asset
5. Ontario Surface Common Core Training is an asset

LOCATION:

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
