Job Description: Mine Maintenance Supervisor

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance General Foreman, the Mine Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing repairs, overhauls, and new builds to mining related equipment. This position will employ reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting functions, planning and execution of maintenance functions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

1. Plan, organize, manage and coordinate the activities of mobile equipment involved in production
2. Help plan the mechanical maintenance of vehicles
3. May lead a mixed trade or specialists’ team
4. Work with a range of equipment, vehicles.
5. Manage preventative maintenance schedules and planned shutdowns, as per vendor specifications.
6. Ensure planned and ad hoc repairs are executed to keep all equipment running smoothly
7. Respect, know and promote company regulations and policies, particularly with regard to health and safety
8. Plan, prepare and perform follow-ups of health and safety activities such as joint inspections, risk analyses and incident/accident reports
9. Solve problems related to your area of activity and recommend measures to improve departmental productivity
10. Ensure the proper functioning of all activities and compliance with procedures
11. Manage personnel, evaluate performance and see to employee development
12. Keep records on production and write reports
13. Ensure the proper management of operating expenses
14. All other related tasks

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

1. Strong commitment to safety
2. Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment
3. Strong written and verbal communication
4. Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is considered an asset
5. Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment
6. Willing to perform repetitive tasks
7. Comfortable working at heights
8. Proficient utilizing MS Office programs
9. Knowledge of quality fundamentals
10. Strong leadership attributes
11. Ontario Common Core an asset
12. SAP experience an asset
13. Fluent in the language of operation

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

1. Red Seal Journeyperson certification
2. College Diploma or Diploma of Vocational Studies in a subject relevant to the mining industry
3. 10 to 15 years of experience in mining operations with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position
4. Basic computer skills
5. Valid driver’s license

LOCATION

1. This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a 14/14 rotation.
