YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will be responsible for the coordination and optimization of efficient and safe mining operations involving production, pit maintenance and technical services. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic weekly mine plans and designs;
  • Work collaboratively with mine planning engineers providing input to monthly plans, forecasts and budgets;
  • Support and guide the mine operations team to ensure successful short-term plan execution;
  • Ensure that mining plans are consistent with data from geology, survey, maintenance, geotechnical, safety and environment;
  • Provide blending plans for the plant production forecast;
  • Define stockpile plans and strategy in coordination with all the required departments;
  • Support initiatives to increase mine production efficiencies, maximize economic return, and reduce costs smartly;
  • Visit project and operation areas to ascertain designs and plans are properly implemented and manage any changes;
  • Follow and improve procedures related to safety, costs, production, maintenance and budgeting.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Mine Technician Diploma or similar qualification from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical services in an open pit mine;
  • Experience in drill & blast design;
  • Experience with Hexagon MineSight and Maptek Vulcan are considered an asset;
  • Experience with Fleet Management Systems (Wenco) and use of reporting and analytical tools;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
