Millwright - Aircraft Maintenance, Delta BC

The Millwright position is an achieved role upon completing the BC Certificate of Apprenticeship and the BC Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Standard Endorsement (Red Seal) for the Millwright Trade. A successful Millwright candidate would have the ability to read or interpret blueprints/drawings and manufacturers manuals, and the ability to use the machine shop, electrical, welding, pneumatics, and power transmission as required for the maintenance and repair of equipment. The ideal Millwright would have working experience with maintenance of CNC Machines and TIG welding.

Millwright - Aircraft Maintenance, Delta BC

Department: Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul

We are looking for an onsite Millwright for an Aviation Maintenance company that is located in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. In this position, a Millwright is responsible for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of machinery, mechanical support, tooling, fixtures, and systems. In addition, the position will include installation and changes to shop layout as well as general building maintenance when required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Candidate must have successfully completed the BC Certificate of Apprenticeship, and The BC Certificate of Qualification.
  2. Must have an Interprovincial Standard Endorsement (Red Seal) for the Millwright Trade.
  3. Experience with maintenance of CNC Machines will be considered an asset.
  4. Experience with TIG welding will be considered an asset.
  5. Good working knowledge of proper safety practices and the demonstrated work in a manner that recognizes personal safety and the safety of others.
  6. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in an industrial/manufacturing maintenance environment. Aerospace is an asset.
  7. Must possess good organization skills.
  8. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  9. Must possess good interpersonal and leadership skills, and be a team player.
  10. Must be able to work independently and with others.
  11. Strong computer skills an asset.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Working on multiple projects/work requests.
  2. Creating a material request for repairs and maintenance activities and submit to the Facility Coordinator or Team Leader.
  3. Running mechanical equipment to verify correct operation during maintenance activities and/or checking with an operator.
  4. Reading or interpreting blueprints/drawings and manufacturers manuals.
  5. Using machine shop, electrical, welding, pneumatics, and power transmission as required for the maintenance and repair of equipment.
  6. Applying troubleshooting skills to identify and correct problems and recommend solutions.
  7. Organizing and maintaining tools inventory.
  8. Repairing and making small tooling and specialty tooling as required.

The selection process will consist of an interview and skills assessment.

NOTE: MILLWRIGHTS MAY BE EXPECTED TO FOLLOW STANDARD WORK SHIFT ROTATION. THOSE UNABLE TO DO SO WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION.
