Mill Operator - Roll Forming Metal

What You Will Do

1. Champion Safety: Ensure a safe work environment by following and promoting safe work practices.
2. Master the Machine: Set up and operate roll forming machines to shape metal coils into precise profiles.
3. Load and Roll: Skillfully load metal coils onto the roll forming machine.
4. Precision Adjustments: Change roll dies and fine-tune machine settings to create different profiles.
5. Quality Inspector: Check all profiles, lock seams, and dimensions after every setup, ensuring coil thickness and width meet specifications.
6. Document and Report: Keep detailed records of coil usage, quality inspections, and daily production reports.
7. Innovate and Improve: Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting new processes and technologies.
8. Troubleshoot and Solve: Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving on the roll forming machine.
9. Maintain Standards: Ensure metal profiles meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
10. Follow the System: Adhere to AIL's Quality Management System.
11. Be Versatile: Perform other related duties as needed.

What You Will Need

1. Manufacturing Experience: Especially with roll forming metal.
2. Safety First: A safety-conscious mindset, organized, and self-motivated.
3. Forklift and overhead crane experience an asset.
4. Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding cause and effect, and familiarity with standard mechanics tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, side cutters, air tools).
5. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Tech Savvy: Computer literacy and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications are definite assets.
7. Problem Solver: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to equipment and processes.
8. Work Under Pressure: Ability to work safely under pressure in a manufacturing environment.
9. Welding Skills: An asset but not mandatory.

Location – Ayr, ON

Wage - $25 Per hour
