Mill Maintenance Lubrication Technician

Greenstone Mine is seeking aMill Maintenance Lubrication Technicianto join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Asset Reliability Specialist, the Mill Maintenance Lubrication Technician, you work with pieces of machinery and various equipment to keep them lubricated and maintained as part of a regular maintenance routine. Your responsibilities are to inspect the equipment, lubricate pieces, keep records of your inspections and maintenance duties, troubleshoot and repair machinery, and order parts to complete the repair when necessary. Collaborate with all other departments as a team, to achieve budgeted targets for HS&E, cost and production.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Ensure that all equipment is lubricated to meet NLGI standards/OEM specifications.
• Conduct oil analysis (checking for metal fragments, moisture content and other contaminants).
• Diagnose bearing and wear surface failure and set action plans to correct failures.
• Maintain all gearboxes to operating levels and notify the Reliability Technician of any leaking seals or excessive noise.
• Maintain cleanliness ISO standards for all hydraulic units, pull oil samples semi-annually and document results.
• Manage an inventory of filters and repair/spare parts
• Maintain auto lubrication lines, including plumbing and inspection for damaged or leaking fittings.
• Maintain all air compressors, air dryers, oil coolers / heat exchangers and manage oil analysis records as required.
• Use maintenance software (SAP) for writing work orders and creating requisitions
• Maintain lubrication cabinets, tools, and equipment.
• Work with other trades, leads or supervisors who have priority work needing to be completed.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Some computer skills would be an asset but not mandatory.
• Strong organizational skills.
• A willingness to take on progressively more responsibilities as they grow and develop with the company.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Physically fit with the ability to perform physical labour.
• Ability to work under pressure and produce high quality work within time constraints.
• SAP or other CMMS type of system experience an asset.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Formalized/technical training is preferred but not mandatory.

LOCATION

• This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a 4 on 3 off rotation.
