Job Description:

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mill Asset Reliability Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Mill Asset Reliability Specialist will play a critical role in determining root causes of maintenance issues and developing strategies and action plans to prevent these and similar issues from occurring in the future. This position will assist in the management of our preventative maintenance (PM) program and help implement continuous improvements. The Mill Asset Reliability Specialist will also actively manage all predictive maintenance (PdM) tasks, including condition-based monitoring (CBM), such as oil sampling, vibration analysis, and thermography readings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

1. Maintain complete and accurate records/plans within our computerized maintenance management system related to equipment, specifications data, BOM, failure history, etc.
2. Design and manage condition-based maintenance (CBM) program.
3. Identify and manage a system of continuous improvement to ensure resolution to chronic “bad actor” equipment.
4. Work closely with the maintenance planners on the creation of equipment repair best practices.
5. Investigate new technologies for reliability improvements.
6. Analyze significant failures to determine the root cause.
7. Maintain equipment history and analyze for future trends.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

1. Self-motivated and safety conscious.
2. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
3. Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
5. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as Oracle or JD Edwards is necessary, with SAP being the preferred type of such system.
6. Care and control of all predictive equipment (Vibration Analyzer, Thermal Imaging, Strobes, Tachs).

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EDUCATION:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or an Industrial Trades Certification with 2-5 years of maintenance experience.
2. 2-5 years of maintenance experience preferred.
3. Experience as an Asset Reliability Specialist or in a similar role preferred.
4. Vibration Analysis Level II Certification preferred.
5. Infrared Thermography Level I Certification preferred.
6. Ultrasound Level I Certification preferred.
7. Oil Analysis Level I Certification preferred.
8. CMRP Certification preferred.

LOCATION:

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
