Milking Equipment Installation Technician

Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

Location: Leduc, AB

The successful candidate will work with customers and the DLS team to install automated milking equipment at various dairy farms located throughout Alberta. The position will require working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Compensation Will Be Based On Background And Experience. Once trained, there will be a requirement for this individual to be on call for emergency service.

• Install automated milking equipment in dairy barns which requires experience in electrical, electronics, compressed air, plumbing and hydraulics.
• Troubleshoot installation problems.
• Weld equipment and components for proper installation.
• Follow detailed diagrams/drawings of parlour map and install all components accordingly.
• Co-operate with other construction contractors to ensure all aspects of the job are covered.
• Operate forklift/telehandler and aerial lift equipment on occasion.
• Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers.
• Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards.
• Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury.
• Work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Plumbing and electrical experience a definite asset.
• Installation Technician experience and/or background in the dairy industry would be an asset.
• Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and take ownership of assigned work.
• Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with customers regarding the work being done.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping.
• Mechanical aptitude to be able to troubleshoot the mechanical equipment.
• Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada.
• Must maintain a valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract and have your own vehicle, we are not located on a public transportation route.
