Primary function

As a Microsoft System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, administering, and maintaining various Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Exchange Server, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), Azure, and modern Windows device management. In addition to these responsibilities, your role will require expertise in PowerShell, Power Automate, and Power Apps. Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance of these systems while utilizing automation to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key accountabilities

  1. Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems.
  2. Manage and administer hybrid Exchange server infrastructure.
  3. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in on-premise environment and within M365.
  4. Configure and maintain email accounts, distribution lists, and public folders.
  5. Administer Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related workloads.
  6. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, optimize resource utilization, and perform necessary upgrades and patches.
  7. Manage and administer modern Windows device management solutions, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
  8. Configure and deploy policies for device management, security, and software distribution.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues for Windows endpoints.
  10. Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate routine administrative tasks and streamline system management processes.
  11. Design and implement workflows using Power Automate to automate business processes and integrations.
  12. Develop and customize Power Apps to create efficient and user-friendly applications to enhance productivity.
  13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support IT projects and initiatives.
  14. Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Required skills & experience

  1. Proven experience as a system administrator, specifically with Microsoft technologies.
  2. Strong knowledge and experience with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and file/print services.
  3. Proficiency in managing Exchange 2010/2016 Server and Exchange Online environments, including mail flow, mailbox management, and security.
  4. Experience with M365 administration, including SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  5. Solid understanding of modern Windows device management solutions, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
  6. Excellent PowerShell scripting skills for automation and system management.
  7. Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps for workflow automation and application development.
  8. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and end users.
  10. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  11. Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or Microsoft Power Platform certifications, are a plus.
