The Technician is responsible for the handling, consolidating and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The Technician must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks. This position is seasonal and hours of work are on Saturdays only from 7:45 am - 4:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe manner
2. Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers
3. Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol
4. Operation of processing machinery and equipment as required
5. Ensure safe operation and procedures are followed at all times
6. Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted
7. Complete job hazard risk assessments
8. Promote a safety culture with all employees
9. Ensure superior customer service is provided
10. General shop clean up and maintenance
11. Other miscellaneous tasks as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to perform moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks
2. Physically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand on cement for extended periods of time
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Planning and organizational skills
5. Ability to analyze and solve problems
6. Able to work independently and in a team environment
