Metallurgical Technician

Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. You will be responsible for providing metallurgical expertise and technical support to the Process Plant to ensure efficient and optimal plant performance. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the analysis of plant data and the development of related metallurgical accounting, recordkeeping and reports;
• Perform metallurgical testing and analysis of results including sampling, sizing, density check, pH monitoring and cyanide analysis;
• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Gold room, including adherence to safety and housekeeping standards;
• Assist with plant sampling, surveys, research and development;
• Maintain online analysis equipment throughout the Process Plant;
• Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System;
• Understand, promote and live by the five Life Saving Rules.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering Technology or the equivalent combination of experience and education;
• Minimum three years’ experience working in a mineral processing plant, with preference in a gold processing plant;
• High level of integrity and accountability;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

• Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
