Job Description

In accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Mental Health and Addictions services, the incumbent is accountable for the provision of direct concurrent mental health and addiction services to adults and their families. These services will include individual, group, and family counselling, case management, and public education/consultation in the area of mental health and addictions. The incumbent shall function within the practice principles of the Mental Health and Addictions Services program management model.

Minimum Requirements

Education:
- Bachelor of Chemical Dependency
- Degree in Human Services/Health Sciences or related field
- Bachelor Degree in a health-related field acceptable to the employer

Competencies:
- Advanced - Counseling skills
- Intermediate - Time management skills
- Intermediate - Organizational skills

Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of protocols and legislation related to addictions and mental health
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge in Motivational Assessment Process
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
- Ability to design, conduct, and evaluate educational training for various targeted audiences
- Ability to collect, record, and report comprehensive information.
