Here’s How
Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments for a wide range of psychosocial disorders, including evaluations of risk and substance use. Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with clients to address their specific needs and goals.
Therapeutic Counseling: Provide medium-term therapeutic counseling for individuals dealing with complex mental health and substance use disorders. Empower clients by helping them develop coping strategies, enhance emotional resilience, and acquire skills for successful workforce reintegration. Support them in managing workplace stressors and sustaining long-term employment.
Community Liaison: Act as a case manager by referring clients to appropriate community resources and ensuring they receive the support needed for their recovery.
Peer Collaboration: Actively participate in clinical and peer supervision sessions, as well as bi-monthly team meetings. Engage in case consultations and continuously enhance your professional knowledge by staying updated on industry trends and new therapeutic modalities.
Client Advocacy: Maintain consistent communication with external stakeholders, advocate on clients' behalf, and effectively manage client interactions while representing TELUS Health.
Quality Assurance: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging client feedback through satisfaction surveys and consistently achieving case closure targets.
Administrative Duties: Handle all administrative tasks as dictated by each client's clinical model, including timely completion of intake assessments, progress notes, and closing reports. Ensure accurate documentation, manage scheduling, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate with external providers and participate in quality assurance processes as required.
Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Master’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Active membership with a professional college in Ontario (OCSWSSW or CRPO).
Minimum five (5) years of post-masters clinical experience.
Certification or extensive training in conducting Substance Abuse assessments, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), AOAR practices, and/or GAIN-Q3 is considered a valuable asset.
Experience and Skills:
Expertise in mental health and concurrent disorders, including conducting substance abuse assessments and mental health evaluations.
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment facilities considered an asset.
Proven ability to manage high-risk crises, including clients who may pose threats to themselves or others.
Ability to work effectively with diverse clients presenting various issues, with a thorough understanding of local community resources.
Experience supporting mandated clients and promoting community adaptation and integration.
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Effective time management skills to handle high caseloads and administrative tasks.
Strong report writing and administrative skills.
Tech-savvy with the capability to provide telephonic and virtual clinical support.
Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
Willingness and availability to travel within the GTA to provide in-person support as needed.
