Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Member Dining Manager will work closely with the Events & Catering Manager to provide a high-quality food and beverage experience to members and guests of The Cataraqui Golf and Country Club, Limited (Club). The Member Dining Manager is responsible for ensuring an excellent quality dining experience for all members and guests, the supervision of the everyday operations of the dining room and patio, curling lounge and on-course Fore11 location, and the managing and training of Food & Beverage staff. The position includes administrative duties and active participation in food and beverage service. Duties and responsibilities will vary with seasonal fluctuations in staffing levels.
General Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance & Administration Officer (FAO) in the preparation of draft annual food and beverage budgets for review by the COO, according to schedule set by the COO. Assist COO to achieve or exceed the annual departmental budget, once approved.
- Responsible for the efficient and effective use of Jonas to accomplish all food and beverage functions and for staff training. Required Jonas knowledge includes but is not limited to all POS applications, menu programming, product pricing, and banquet applications.
- Effectively communicate with staff to ensure compliance with Club policies, operating procedures, and applicable legislative regulations.
- Maintain strict sanitation standards in accordance with policy.
- Support a healthy and safe working environment, ensuring all Food & Beverage staff are aware of and work in compliance with all health and safety regulations. Possess a current and thorough understanding of Club policies, Club general operating procedures, regulations of AGCO, Ontario Employment Standards, Workplace Safety, AODA, and other applicable regulations of governmental agencies and will educate and ensure adherence of all by food and beverage staff.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with members, guests, visitors, staff, and other external stakeholders.
- As the Manager on shift, is responsible for maintaining efficient and smooth Club operations, including supervision of all staff, and effectively dealing with any issues or emergencies as they arise.
Key Responsibilities: include but are not limited to
- Provide guidance and support to all food & beverage staff during service hours in all food & beverage areas of the Club.
- Issue regular updates to Club Members regarding weekly menus, special events, news, and information.
- Assist with and/or manage the planning and facilitation of special events and functions.
- Initiate the recruitment and selection process of Food & Beverage staff.
- Provide scheduling, mentoring, training of servers and bartenders, labour review for payroll, performance management processes in conjunction with the ECM.
- Development of wine lists and beverage promotions.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to update, review, and print menu changes.
- Attend Management meetings.
- Conduct monthly inventory counts.
- Maintain inventory levels of all Club and golf course food & beverage locations with budgets and assist in completion of monthly inventory.
- Maintain adequate levels of locker room supplies, linens, sundries, etc.
- Weekly ordering of all beverage and sundry inventory.
- Organize, stock, clean, and repair bars and bar equipment, including Fore11 and beverage cart on a daily basis.
- Implement the standards of Club food & beverage operations.
- Investigate and resolve food & beverage quality and service complaints in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that staff always showcase professionalism in member relations.
- Resolve staff, member, and guest concerns quickly and efficiently.
- Comply with the standards set by Smart Serve, declining to serve alcohol to persons who are or appear to be intoxicated.
- Report to work in a professional and well-groomed manner.

Work Hours
- A variable schedule that includes occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, and public holidays to accommodate the food and beverage requirements of the Club.
Education / Work Experience
- Minimum 2-5 years management experience in a dining and/or banquet environment and in a leadership role preferred.
- Extensive wine and cuisine knowledge preferred.
- Ability to function effectively in team situations.
- Smart Serve and Safe Food Handling certification required.
- Strong computer skills with MS Word, Outlook, Internet, and Excel.
- Experience with Jonas is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
