As the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) you will strategically position Roche Tissue Diagnostics' portfolio within the Canadian healthcare landscape. You will champion the value of diagnostics through impactful presentations and interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Government bodies, and other key stakeholders. A core focus will be on facilitating the integration of innovative diagnostic solutions and actively contributing to the development of medical strategies and tactics that precisely address the evolving needs of HCPs, particularly within the oncology space.

A cornerstone of this role will be the strategic and effective management of relationships with KOLs. You will also oversee the management of Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS), ensuring that these studies are aligned with Roche Tissue Diagnostics' strategic objectives and that they are conducted in compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines. Your work as an MSL will have a significant impact on the lives of patients, helping to ensure that they have access to the most advanced and effective diagnostic solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare in Canada by championing the value of diagnostics and driving the adoption of innovative technologies.

The Opportunity

  • Work in close collaboration with the Medical, Access and Policy team as well as Marketing teams from relevant Business Areas to analyze and establish the positioning of sequencing solutions in the Canadian market.
  • Identify and build relationships with potential stakeholders and partners including, but not limited to, KOLs, clinical and research leaders, academicians, clinicians, medical directors, and other health care providers within assigned region(s).
  • Provide support, training and education on high medical value pathology solutions, in particular companion diagnostics to stakeholders and is competent at tailoring messages for the audience.
  • Serve as a scientific expert, providing education and facilitating scientific exchange regarding Roche Tissue Diagnostics Solutions within the oncology and pathology communities through presentations and discussions.
  • Promote Roche Tissue Diagnostics Solutions portfolio at national, regional, and local scientific forums, including symposia and training meetings.
  • Maintain medical affairs initiations and interactions by liaising and exchanging scientific information with physicians and KOLs in oncology and pathology settings.
  • Gather market intelligence on competitor products and new products in development.
  • Assist with identification of investigator-initiated studies, guiding through the approval process, monitoring study progress and help define a scientific communication strategy.

Who you are

  • You hold a Bachelor degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences) or a related field (e.g., Medical Engineering, Biotechnology). MSc or PhD in Life Sciences is an asset.
  • You have 5+ years of experience working in the field of in vitro diagnostics, and 2+ years of proven experience in anatomical pathology either in the research setting or in a clinical laboratory.
  • You demonstrate experience collaborating and building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the in vitro diagnostics industry.
  • You have a proven track record of successful presentations to diverse audiences, including scientific and medical professionals.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • In this position, you will be servicing customers across Canada, therefore a proficient level of English is required and French may be required depending on geographical location.
  • This position requires a willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
