Are YOU our next Medical Laboratory Technologist?

We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Kelowna, BC. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

This is a permanent, part-time position (22.5 hours per week) working a rotational schedule, 7:00am to 9:00pm.

How YOU Will Make a Difference

• Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
• Performing routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology which includes but is not limited to analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting.
• Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
• Identifying and reporting incidents and non-conformities.

What YOU Bring To The Role

• You thrive independently, applying sound decision-making principles and the ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment.
• You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment.
• Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.
• Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.

• Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
• Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
• Shift work required.

Salary from: $36.00 hour
