Job description

Hours of work:

Location 1: TMC 13278 Tecumseh Road East. Shift may include but is not limited to 4-hour shifts (7am-11am, 7:30am-11:30am, 2pm-6pm, 2:15pm-6:15pm).

Location 2: 503 Sandwich St. South Amherstburg Ontario. Hours can vary between 8am to 4pm. This location is not on a bus route.

Location 3: 5841 Malden Road LaSalle Ontario. Part-time hours must be available between 8am to 4pm and Saturdays from 6:45am to 3pm.

Location 4: Howard Avenue. Part-time hours can range to start at 8am till Noon, 11am to 3pm, or 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Location 5: Leamington Location. Hours vary from 7am to 11am, 7:30am to 11:30am, or 7am to 3pm. Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

Requirements:

• Must be available to work at various locations.
• Must have transportation to work at various locations. Some of our locations are not on a bus route.

As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Greeting and requesting required information from patients.
• Performing venipuncture.
• Performing Electrocardiogram (ECG) tracings.
• Explaining the specimen collection process.
• Ensuring patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
• Completing data entry of patient's information.
• Performing special test collections such as genetic or fertility tests.
• Preparing specimens to be transported for testing.

• Ability to relate to patients and clients in stressful situations while demonstrating empathy.
• Desire to learn and pursue a career in the medical field.
• Ability to maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

COVID-19 considerations: To keep our phlebotomists safe, we have installed plexiglass counter barriers. For the blood draw process, universal precautions and PPE protocols are in place.
