Required Qualifications:

1. Secondary School Diploma
2. Certificate in medical editing/transcription from an institution approved by the Association of Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI)
3. Additional education in the health information field or equivalent on-the-job experience
4. Minimum 1-year of experience working with Voice Recognition Transcription software

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

1. Knowledge of medical editing/transcription guidelines and industry best practices
2. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, medical specialties, pharmacology, and lab results
3. Expert proof-reader with the ability to recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies
4. Extensive computer competency in Microsoft Office applications
5. Strong organizational, time management and record-keeping skills
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
8. Ability to work independently
9. Ability to prioritize and manage high volume workload
10. Ability to identify and interpret the intended meaning of dictated information

Assets:

1. Bilingual
2. Experience in Meditech software applications
3. Excellent attendance record

$23.98-$29.98 per hour
