You will join our office-based administrative team supporting the Auditory Implant Service at the University of Southampton. USAIS offers a regional service for deaf children and adults for assessment and provision of an auditory implant/device and lifelong care.
This role is one of 4 medical secretaries supporting a multi-disciplinary team including a visiting Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) consultant. You will be an enthusiastic, adaptable multi-tasker and provide proactive and patient-focused administration and assistance to health professionals and colleagues. You will demonstrate excellent administration skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You will have experience of managing client records and making appointments using a client administration system. Ideally, you will have experience as a medical secretary/administrator within a health care setting with specialist training in the field.
You must have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and be confident interacting with a wide variety of people via email and on the telephone. You must be able to communicate with people who may have difficulty with understanding and be aware of their needs. You will have a keen eye for detail and appreciate the need for accuracy and adherence to data protection and information governance policies and procedures.
A standard DBS check will be required for this role.
An online competency test will be arranged prior to formal face-to-face interviews which are to be confirmed.
