Medical Clinical Assisstant

A premier medical practice located in the heart of Mississauga is looking for a dedicated Medical Clinical Assistant to join their healthcare team. The Medical Clinical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility.

Responsibilities:

1. Assisting physicians in the assessment of patients
2. Following through patient treatment plans as per instruction of physicians
3. Documenting patient rehabilitation progress where needed
4. Collecting patient statistics and medical information as per physician’s requirements
5. Collaborating with members of the clinic’s interdisciplinary health team
6. Managing clinic staff and assigning duties in respect of patient care
7. Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
8. Assisting healthcare professionals
9. Developing information materials for patients
10. Maintaining prescription records
11. Preparing surgical instruments
12. Performing general clerical duties
13. Scheduling and confirming appointments
14. Taking patients’ general medical and ophthalmic history
15. Managing routine office functions including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
16. Ordering supplies and equipment
17. Organizing and maintaining inventory
18. Coordinating patient care
19. Collecting blood, tissue, or other samples from patients
20. Consulting with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
21. Helping patients develop healthy habits, break old habits, and reshape their approach to wellness
22. Providing counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
23. Interviewing clients, preparing case histories, and assessing problems

Skills:

1. Proficiency in medical terminology
2. Competence in handling electronic medical records in a hospital/clinic setting
3. Computer literate in handling Microsoft tools
4. Able to supervise clinical staff of 5-7 people
5. Able to work under pressure with high patient turnover

Job Requirements:

Experience:
– Minimum 10 years of working in a similar or hospital setting

Education:
– A degree in Medicine, or
– Bachelor's degree with Medical Clinical Assistant experience.
