Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. Our passionate team is committed to providing cancer treatments of the future to the world of today.


TRIO is looking for a Medical Affairs Assistant to join our Drug Safety Unit team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Drug Safety Unit Manager, this position is a full-time, hourly position for the months of May – August 2025, subject to the approval of the Venture for Canada Grant.


Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the distribution of safety reports to various reviewing parties: reception, tracking, distribution/submission, follow-up on confirmation of receipt, and filing.
  2. Provide support to manage investigator site user access to the Safety Distribution System.
  3. Provide support for Third Party Organization oversight to ensure appropriate monitoring and follow-up of safety reporting activities.
  4. Provide support for the timely Trial Master File (TMF) filing for Medical Affairs documents.
  5. Participate in the QC of TMF and issue resolution.
  6. Provide support to the Medical Affairs team in study-related activities (e.g., mailings, filing, team roster, document tracking, writing minutes, etc.).
  7. Participate in the creation and revision of Trial Written Instructions relevant to the activities involved, as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in any Science related Program at a Post Secondary Institution.
  2. 1-year work experience.
  3. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  4. Effective organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  5. Medical Knowledge would be an asset.
  6. Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and prioritize work effectively.

What TRIO Can Offer You:

  1. $18.00 per hour.
  2. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  3. Temporary Summer Work Term.
  4. Remote Work Arrangement.
