Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Baggage Handling System (433A) - Toronto Airport

Job Description

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for mechanical maintenance work performed under the direct supervision of the Residential Services Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, or Shift Supervisor at the Toronto Pearson Airport. Must be able to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

1. Recover and repair mechanical issues and errors on the material handling system.
2. Reset errors due to luggage, equipment, or operator.
3. Assist engineers with fault finding and maintenance activities.
4. Carry out system maintenance, and cleaning of assets and surrounding areas.
5. Support activities with BEUMER Group products and systems in response to customer requirements.
6. Monitor the performance of the material handling system.
7. Adhere to the various quality and reporting systems (CMMS System).
8. Adhere to all Health and Safety Requirements.
9. Provide adequate feedback and intelligence to BEUMER Group management.
10. Report spare parts usage (CMMS System).
11. Follow escalation procedures when needed.

Qualifications Requirements:

1. Licensed Industrial Millwright 443A certificate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial facility working with baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries, operations, and maintenance.
2. RAIC Security Clearance or the ability to obtain/maintain such clearance.
3. Strategy insight and comprehension.
4. Excellent Written & Verbal Communications skills (English).
5. Relevant system and product knowledge.
6. Competencies in objective analysis and development.
7. Positive and professional demeanor.
8. Proficient at using computers and working with maintenance software, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
9. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
