Mechanical Lab Technician

Job Summary

With direct supervision from the Manager, the Mechanical Lab Technician is responsible for performing specified tests using various equipment under a controlled test protocol by performing the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conducts routine tests of new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria as established by policies, procedures, or written test plans.
2. Works to ensure project schedules are met.
3. Uses test fixtures to carry out various testing requirements.
4. Utilizes test equipment to perform reliability testing.
5. Maintains accurate records of test results.
6. Assists higher-level staff as needed.
7. Complies with company policies and procedures.
8. Supports and follows internal health and safety programs and protocols.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
10. Hands-on & familiar with power tools.

Qualifications

1. Secondary school diploma.
2. 0-3 years of experience in a related field.
3. Basic testing experience; tests electro-mechanical components, parts, and systems with supervisory technical oversight.
4. Basic team player skills; able to work well with others and support internal/external customer needs.
5. An understanding of basic troubleshooting, problem-solving, and testing procedures.
6. Ability to handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
7. Accountability for maintaining a high level of integrity in all work performed.
8. Builds good cross-functional relationships within a team environment.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
