Position: Mechanical Engineer / Technologist
Hours: 40, full-time employment – Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Location: Red Deer, Alberta

Thruster Energy Corp. was founded in 2016 and is dedicated to supplying thru-tubing services for the oil and gas industry with innovative tools to increase efficiency. With extensive experience, our service team can handle the most challenging situations and projects.

Description of Position
We are looking for someone to provide engineering support and technical services to our growing company. This includes new designs, product support, liaising with clients and vendors, generating various reports, and operational support.

Tasks will include:

• Existing product improvements and upgrades
• Facilitate the needs of daily operations
• Review of new components, materials, and technologies for product development
• Design new downhole tool concepts to fit the needs of operations from start to finish including: drafting, prototyping and testing, field trials, commercialization and product launch, sustainment and improvements
• Maintaining technical records and analysis to support designs and projects
• Participate and lead in NCR (non-conformance reports) and failure analysis processes, to promote continuous product improvement initiatives

Skills and Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma
• Eligible or registered with APEGA or ASET
• 1+ years of experience, preferably in downhole oil and gas applications
• Experience with Solidworks
• Ability to work independently while multi-tasking
• Strong and concise communication skills
• Adaptability in a dynamic work environment
• Mechanical aptitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
