Mechanical Engineer (Sustaining Engineering)

We're excited to be building a new Sustaining Engineering Team at Zaber, and we're looking for an enthusiastic, versatile Mechanical Engineer to help shape it from the ground up! In this role, you'll use a broad set of skills to proactively identify and pursue opportunities to optimize our products and continue to make Zaber devices irresistible to our users. With the support of a large pool of experienced engineers, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to a variety of interesting problems.

Sustaining Engineering's mission at Zaber is to relentlessly improve our products. We aim to be product success ambassadors, searching out and developing methods to learn more about our offerings and how they might be refined to better meet our customers needs as well as our own. You'll work to discover, prioritize, plan, and implement a variety of projects across our entire product line that impact: performance, assembly time, market reach, part cost, and reliability.

As you take on new challenges, you will have the opportunity to develop and employ engineering skills such as precision mechanical design, design for manufacture and assembly, tolerance analysis, part strength and stiffness calculations, FEA simulations, and project organization and management. The scope of your projects will range from single-part design changes to complete product redesigns.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

• Identify, prioritize, manage, and implement product improvement projects (feature additions, new variants, cost savings, quality improvements, etc)
• Design, prototype and test product improvement projects
• Collaborate across teams with experts in mechanical design, customer applications, electrical engineering, software development, firmware, supply chain, and manufacturing to support the completion of the above tasks

You're the ideal Mechanical Engineer if you have:

• Experience in product design, mechanical design, or manufacturing environments
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Engineering Physics, or similar.
• Skill and passion for prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent projects with diverse stakeholders.
• Desire for learning and continuous improvement.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems.
• High attention to detail

Mechanical Engineer Wage

• The starting wage for the role ranges from $31 - $54/hour depending on experience.
