Mechanical Engineer - PL#16602

This role would be working on a northern mine site with a scheduled rotation of two weeks on, two weeks off.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging stakeholders, conducting, observing and troubleshooting design changes
• Specify and size pumps to meet system requirements
• Assess infrastructure needs for pump installation
• Calculate system flows, accounting for friction factors and restrictions
• Apply relevant specifications for pipes, valves, and gaskets
• Determine basic pipe support requirements (excluding stress analysis)
• Prepare pipe isometric drawings and pipe material take-offs (MTOs) for construction
• Develop equipment datasheets for pumps, valves, specialty equipment, and instrumentation
• Create Scopes of Work (SOW) to guide engineering or construction bidding processes
• Develop Construction Work Packages (CWP) for use by maintenance personnel or contractors
• Develop and execute commissioning plans for new installations
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and contribute to safety reviews
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and company specifications

This role is expected to last 6 months.

• 4 - 10 years previous experience in a similar role in the mining or industrial industry
• Mechanical Engineering Degree
• P. Eng registered with APEGS
• Experience with pumps and pipe designs
• Preparing isometric drawings and material take offs
• Understanding of instrumentation controls
