Mechanical Engineer

Job Details

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in robotics application design to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components for robotics applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to create efficient and high-performance robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Develop and design mechanical components, subsystems, and overall robotic systems for various applications, including automation, industrial robotics, and service robots. Perform 3D modeling, CAD design, and detailed drawings of mechanical components using tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software. Design and optimize mechanical systems for strength, weight, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
  2. Prototyping and Testing: Build and prototype mechanical systems and parts for robotic applications. Conduct mechanical testing and analysis to validate the performance and reliability of robotic components and systems. Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve mechanical design issues throughout the development process.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and scalable. Provide technical support during the production and deployment phases of robotics systems.
  4. Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and cutting-edge technologies in the field of robotics. Propose and implement improvements in mechanical design and system performance. Innovate and explore new methods for solving complex mechanical design challenges in robotics.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including design specifications, test results, and design revisions. Generate reports and presentations to communicate design progress and outcomes to internal teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in mechanical design, particularly for robotics or automation applications. Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) for creating 3D models and design documents. Experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques relevant to robotics.
  3. Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, kinematics, dynamics, and thermodynamics in the context of robotics. Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), or other simulation tools. Proficiency in prototyping techniques, such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping. Familiarity with embedded systems and sensor integration in robotics (preferred but not required).
