Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Montreal, QC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Duration: Permanent
Work Hours: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day

As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in developing hardware design solutions for complex engineering systems. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality mechanical designs that meet customer and project requirements. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings based on project specifications.
2. Analyze technical requirements, engineering drawings, and stakeholder input.
3. Collaborate across engineering teams and manufacturing groups to ensure cohesive design execution.
4. Identify and implement technical solutions to meet project goals and timelines.
5. Support the manufacturing team during prototype builds and production.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design and production workflow.
7. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex project environment.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
4. Proficient in parametric CAD tools (Creo preferred).
5. Experience with PLM systems such as Windchill.
6. Skilled in large assembly design, sheet metal design, and surface modeling.
7. Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
8. Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
9. Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Bilingual in English and French (required).

Nice to Have:

1. Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
2. Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
3. Experience with SolidWorks or CATIA.
