Fleet Mechanic - Ottawa, IL
American River Transportation Company, LLC
This is a full-time, hourly level position

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing maintenance for a fleet of marine vessels
  • Requisition of supplies with minimal assistance
  • Complete vessel service intervals
  • Can view, open and close tasks in maintenance program
  • Notify immediate supervisor on non-operable, inadequate, or unsafe equipment or working conditions

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot: identify problem, identify corrective action, communicate action to supervisor take action, and follow up
  • Perform repairs and service a wide variety of equipment with minimal supervision including: changing batteries/gauges/motors/pumps and performing diesel engine work (turbos, exhaust manifolds, water pumps)
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, piping, electrical devices, and other vessel machinery
  • Promote the ADM Way and Core Values

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 75lbs
  • Working in confined spaces and from heights
  • Bending, kneeling, climbing, stairs and ladders
  • Working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots

ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

The pay for this position is expected to be: $27.52 per hour
