At BC Transit, the minimum annual salary for a Mechanic is $100,244. Mechanics have the ability to make additional money through various shift premiums and overtime. Additionally, the minimum annual employer-paid benefits equates to $16,714 per year. These employer-paid benefits include dental, extended health, long-term disability, an employee bus pass, and pension contribution.

What you'll be doing...
Mechanics at BC Transit currently work a compressed work schedule of 4 ten-hour shifts with 3 consecutive days off. Shift schedules are Monday-Thursday, Tuesday-Friday, and Friday-Monday days and nights. We are open from 04:30 am to 02:30 am.
Under the direction of Maintenance Supervisors or designated Tradespersons, you will inspect, troubleshoot, test, repair, and perform maintenance on BC Transit’s fleet, which includes brake systems, suspension, engines, hydraulics, electrical, air conditioning, fuel systems, transmissions, and driveline components. You will be required to identify and order parts as well as rebuild components and change off buses needing repairs as required.
Please note, if you are currently a Mechanic Apprentice looking for work experience, we are not reviewing apprentice applications at this time. We will have a separate posting when positions become available.
