Position Summary

In this full-time seasonal position as a scale operator your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to maintaining the day-to-day operations and administrative duties associated with the operation of the truck scale.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performing operating sequences to receive and exit vehicles through incoming and outgoing scale.
2. Creating Sales orders for the correct customer with the correct product.
3. Issues receipts/BOL’s to vehicle drivers and collect tickets.
4. Inputting receipt tickets.
5. Maintaining a controlled environment in the scale house to ensure proper operation of the computerized scale system.
6. Assisting drivers on where to go once they scale into the facility.
7. Troubleshooting issues with JDE.
8. Assists in performing key starting instructions on command printer as necessary.
9. Enters tank levels, assisting with volume corrections when required.
10. Testing samples for quality control as required.
11. Answers the phone, records messages, and provides routine information.
12. Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word documents, outlook calendars, e-mails, and database software in performing work assignments.
13. Responsible for the shipping and receiving of courier packages incoming and outgoing from the facility.
14. May perform incidental tasks, as directed by the facility manager.

Required Qualifications

1. Minimum High School/College Diploma.
2. Experience with weight scales is an asset.
3. Strong Administrative and Organizational skills.
4. High attention to detail.
5. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
6. Computer literate.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with drivers and staff.
