Material Technicians / Skilled Labour (24062)

GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Material Technician(s) /Skilled Labour to join our Team. GEMTEC currently has openings for Material Technician(s)/ Skilled Labourer(s) in our Saint John office location.

The ideal candidates will have experience in general construction activities. Materials testing and inspection experience considered an asset.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

1. College Level Diploma is considered an asset but not required
2. Civil construction experience is considered an asset
3. Experience with materials testing and inspection is considered an asset
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Strong multi-tasking, organization, and planning skills.
6. Possess ability to lift 30-50 lbs routinely as required
7. GEMTEC is willing to train the successful applicant

Main Duties:

1. Laboratory testing of aggregates, soils, concrete and asphalt
2. Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt
3. Other duties as required

Position:

1. Full-time seasonal and term positions are available
2. Must have a valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel
