Position Summary:
Reporting to the Supervisor, this position supports the safe delivery of the highest quality engines, on time to our customers, by delivering the required results in all areas of production, EHS and other related support areas. This position drives results to our business commitments, continuous improvement, and adherence to all corporate programs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure on time delivery of production & development hardware to specified requirements;
- Review schedule and review parts and subassembly availability;
- Communicate and present priorities to diverse stakeholders;
- Order and schedule delivery of engine shipping containers as per delivery schedule;
- Schedule engine in flow line; monitor and track shipments of engine hardware;
- Communicate with shortage group and manage all shortages; expedite replacement hardware;
- Maintain and monitor digital inventory in storage location, investigate discrepancies and correct errors;
- Manage and establish the bill of materials (BOM) configuration changes required to convert one build spec to another and for return engines issue the build bill of material change (BMC) for configuration upgrades;
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, or customer issues and escalate when required;
- Utilize and input to IT systems in place, developing new working methods when appropriate;
- Ensure IT systems in place are maintained and accurate;
- Maintain performance metrics and reports in order to provide meaningful logistics information and as a means of measuring and evaluating performance;
- Manage production work in progress (WIP) impact and risk caused by quality interventions;
- Daily shipments to external suppliers and creation of expedited shipping when required;
- Scheduling of couriers for rush engine shipments (after normal hours);
- Monitor inventory levels of non-product and order as required. Supplier relationship management (SRM) ordering;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all involved in the logistics process;
- Act as contact point for logistic matters and carry out any administration required;
- Monitor and track key performance indicators, 6S audit inspections;
- Maintain good housekeeping throughout areas.

Qualifications:
This multi-faceted role calls for a candidate that brings the proven ability to work in a variety of logistics functions who is confident in being flexible. The ideal background is to be experienced in logistics, supply chain or transportation function within the manufacturing environment with a good knowledge of logistics processes and procedures.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Strong degree of knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes, components and of supply chain management;
- Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Bill of Material (BOM) and customer data systems;
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and SAP;
- Ability to analyze and manipulate data and provide meaningful information;
- Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous;
- A dynamic ability to learn quickly and work in multiple areas in our logistics functions;
- A demonstrated positive attitude, a pattern of personal and professional conscientiousness and courage;
- A demonstrated pattern of reliability and dependability;
- The ability to read and write English is required;
- The ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, to support production requirements and assist in any overtime support when needed;
- Strong aptitude; two year post-secondary education in the field of logistics is preferred;
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds;
- A strong ability to bend, reach, push, pull, use hand tools.
