Job Purpose:
The Marketing Strategist, within the Product Ministry at World Vision Canada, will play a critical role on our Agile product delivery teams, bringing their multi-channel marketing expertise and functional leadership to the table. In this dynamic position, you will identify and drive data-driven journey orchestration strategies and executions across multiple channels, including digital, email, direct mail, and others. This will be based on the defined product vision and priorities. As part of the Agile team, you’ll engage hands-on in both strategy formulation and iterative delivery, ensuring full engagement throughout the product marketing cycle.
Responsibilities:
Drive marketing excellence in planning, execution, and iterative improvement.
- Product Marketing:
Identify opportunities, develop plans, and present to key stakeholders or leadership. Guided by the prioritized product backlog, collaborate cross-functionally to turn ideas into impactful, multi-channel marketing activations. Your decisions will directly influence how effectively our supporters connect with those in need. - Strategic Visioning:
Develop and communicate compelling, data-driven marketing plans and implementations. Align them with our mission to uplift vulnerable communities. Your foresight will shape personalized and meaningful digital experiences that inspire action. - Iterative Experimentation:
Embrace Lean principles to test, learn, and refine marketing strategies and executions. Use iterative cycles to identify what works best and adjust quickly based on data and feedback. - Practice Leadership:
Inspire and mentor team members, fostering functional leadership and growth within the marketing community of practice. Help cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and empowerment where every idea is valued. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Be the voice of the Agile team’s marketing approach. Partner with the Product Owner to ideate and plan a cohesive, multi-channel marketing strategy in alignment with the roadmap and backlog priorities. Facilitate transparent communication and build strong, collaborative relationships. - Personalization and Automation:
Develop and implement automated, personalized journey flows across channels, leveraging tools and algorithms to deliver tailored experiences at scale. Collaborate on initiatives to enhance decision-making with AI-driven insights where applicable. - Continuous Learning:
Stay ahead of trends in marketing, data, and humanitarian engagement. Lead efforts to refine processes and ensure continuous improvement to deliver more value efficiently. - Release Planning:
Coordinate multi-channel marketing launches, including defining business goals, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring releases meet quality standards and timelines. - Metrics and KPIs:
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success. Use analytics and insights to inform decisions, drive improvements, and ensure alignment with goals. - Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all customer journeys meet high-quality standards, are thoroughly tested, optimized, and align with organizational values and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of progressive experience hands on marketing/media roles.
- Demonstrated ability to create/recommend a journey strategy through to execution.
- 3+ years of experience with enterprise-level marketing technology, such as Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Campaigns, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with automated, multi-channel campaign execution and journey orchestration.
- Proven ability to create scalable, personalized content solutions across various channels.
- Experience using analytics platforms to generate actionable insights and drive data-driven decisions.
- Strong understanding of multi-channel customer journeys, including web, mobile, email, direct mail, and more.
- Experience with retention and customer-facing campaign management within a data-driven marketing environment.
- Knowledge of web/mobile personalization parameters, campaign tracking (e.g., UTMs), and data flows across channels.
- Experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders in collaborative environments.
- Experience structuring journey content to be modular components and interchangeable within template framework is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage agencies and external vendors effectively.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with Lean Agile Scrum methodologies is an asset.
