The Role

The Email Marketing Specialist at Porter Media plays a critical role within the Retention department, supporting the Retention Strategist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance customer lifetime value (LTV), repeat order rates, and loyalty. This role is instrumental in reducing customer churn and focuses on various retention channels, including email, SMS, subscription, memberships, and direct mail. The Email Marketing Specialist will work collaboratively within the team to analyze data, assist in strategy development, and contribute to the overall success of retention initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Retention Strategist in developing and optimizing retention strategies, including email, SMS, subscription, memberships, and direct mail campaigns.
  • Assist in analyzing customer data and market trends to inform retention strategies aimed at increasing customer loyalty and reducing churn.
  • Contribute to cross-functional efforts to ensure cohesive customer retention approaches and work closely with paid media and creative teams.
  • Support in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the effectiveness of retention initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and departmental performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement of retention efforts, both internally and for clients.
  • Participate in managing marketing campaigns, including segmentation, targeting, messaging, and A/B testing.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and clients, ensuring compliance with ergonomic standards and safety requirements.
  • Assist in managing budgets, milestones, deadlines, and project outcomes.
  • Engage in planning meetings, reviewing creatives, and testing elements of email/SMS campaigns.
  • Stay updated with trends in online and email/SMS marketing and contribute to strategies for direct sales and customer acquisition.
  • Learn and utilize email and SMS tools/platforms like Klaviyo, Attentive, PostScript, SMS Bump, etc., with end-to-end tracking.
  • Contribute to conceptualizing marketing campaigns addressing customer pain points, collaborating with graphic designers for improved layout and appearance.
  • Support in educating on email marketing best practices, providing benchmark reports, and maintaining certifications in various platforms.
  • Be an active team player in a collaborative environment, focusing on digital marketing best practices and client success.
