North Van Arts is a grassroots, non-profit, charitable cultural organization dedicated to maximizing the intrinsic value of the arts in all media. Our mandate is to enable emerging and professional artists in all disciplines, to bridge cultures, and to build strong and healthy communities through the arts. We are a vibrant and dynamic organization with over 400 members with a proud history of serving the citizens of the North Shore and artists from throughout Metro Vancouver and beyond.

We are currently seeking an energetic and personable individual, with strong organizational skills and technical abilities to join our team a vibrant and busy charitable organization.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Social Media Manager works closely with each program manager and is responsible for the development, implementation, and tracking of multiple digital and print marketing campaigns including social media. Marketing strategy, design skills, and experience using Adobe suites and WordPress are necessary for this role.

Responsibilities:

MARKETING
• Review and update North Van Arts marketing plan/strategy and workplan as needed, including print, digital, and social media.
• Manage marketing and social media advertising budget for all North Van Arts programs.
• Work with program managers to develop and promote key messaging and create engaging, diverse, and accessible ad campaigns across social media, print, and digital marketing.
• Create program marketing templates that are in line with the North Van Arts brand, which can be used for various marketing materials across all departments.
• Set goals, track and analyze web traffic metrics, and suggest solutions to boost web presence.
• Report on marketing activities and related statistics.
• Update and refresh North Van Arts website content (including the program calendar) to stay up to date with program offerings, while highlighting brand awareness.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies using various tools (Posters/rack cards/ Facebook Ads and Events) which help to promote the North Van Arts brand.
• Manage distribution of print materials, with support from program managers.
• Oversee organizational brand and ensure compliance across all program areas.
• Collaborate with photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and other suppliers/contractors as required.
• Maintain and grow relationships and sponsorships with appropriate media contacts.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA
• Create and implement marketing strategies using various tools (e-blasts, press releases, monthly newsletters, website, social media, digital and print ads, videos) that build and maintain a strong, cohesive online and offline brand.
• Maintain a social media planning calendar, in consultation with program managers, to schedule posts and manage digital engagement on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube for both North Van Arts and North Shore Culture Compass social media channels.
• Utilize hashtags, handles, and representations of North Van Arts brand to boost visibility of marketing content as required.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
• Collaborate, maintain, and enhance relationships with other communities and cultural organizations.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
• Minimum two years’ experience in marketing role or equivalent field required.
• In-depth experience with and knowledge about working with social media.
• Strong English written and spoken language and communication skills required.
• Proficient in Office 365 Suite with experience in WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Analytics, and Google Ads.
• Experience analyzing and leveraging opportunities to maximize small marketing budget.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Competencies:
• Excellent relationship-building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as required.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset.
• University education in arts-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the North Shore arts and culture sector would be an asset.

Salary is based on $25 per hour to start (42,900 a year)
