Responsibilities

Tasks:

1. Train and supervise staff
2. Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
3. Market business services
4. Assist in product development and direct and evaluate the marketing strategies of establishments
5. Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs
6. Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that maintain media relations on behalf of businesses, governments, and other organizations
7. Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that publicize activities and events on behalf of businesses, governments, and other organizations
8. Establish distribution networks for products and services, initiate market research studies and analyze their findings
9. Plan, direct and evaluate the activities of firms and departments that develop and implement advertising campaigns to promote the sales of products and services
10. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the design, development and maintenance of Internet and Intranet sites to manage an organization’s Internet presence
11. Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies
12. Answer written and oral inquiries
13. Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters and other material
14. Co-ordinate special publicity events and promotions
15. Conduct public opinion and attitude surveys
16. Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies and programs
17. Gather, research and prepare communications material
18. Initiate and maintain contact with the media
19. Prepare or oversee preparation of reports, briefs, bibliographies, speeches, presentations, website content and press releases
20. Maintain and manage digital database
21. Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
22. Supervise office and volunteer staff
