Job Summary

The Marketing Content Specialist creates and authors compelling, customer-facing content that promotes the tactical benefits and real-world applications and advantages of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies products and solutions. The role works closely with Product Management and Sales to create copy, case studies, paper summaries, and other marketing content that is highly relevant, deliberate, and focused.

Work Location: In Office (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change)
City: Surrey
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Travel: 10% or 20% travel, primarily within Canada or the US
Salary: $64,000 - $73,000
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.

Duties & Responsibilities

Content Creation

  1. Generates technical yet easy to understand copy for publication across various channels including email, web, video and social.
  2. Collaborates with the product management and strategy groups to facilitate content for product launches, feature announcements and general promotion.
  3. Interviews end users of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies products to uncover real world applications of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies products for publishing as case studies or use cases.
  4. Identifies and facilitates opportunities to film end user applications of Delta Intelligent Building Technologies products at key sites and advises on scripts for video productions.
  5. Sources third-party publishing authorities to author white papers with a key focus on Delta Intelligent Building Technologies solutions.
  6. Tracks and collects content requests for sales enablement.
  7. Develops and maintains the library of case studies, white papers and other focused marketing content.
  8. Contributes to RFIs as required.
  9. Outlines content requirements for sales-led events (lunch n’ learns, symposiums, tradeshows etc.).
  10. Communicates technical information to a variety of audiences.

Market Research and Identification of Trends

  1. Research relevant industry and technology trends and developments.
  2. Identifies key vertical markets and needs to align and focus marketing efforts towards.
  3. Continually uses research data to further validate both new and existing content.

Job Requirements

  1. Possesses high level knowledge of building controls and automation.
  2. Ability to apply technical knowledge of building controls products and software to real-world applications in layman’s terms.
  3. Attention to detail and discipline for accuracy.
  4. Numerate with ability to understand and interpret data.
  5. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  6. Shows initiative and is comfortable leading small projects.
  7. Organized and able to multitask.
  8. Understands and plans to deliver to fixed timescales.
  9. Tactful verbal communications.
  10. Teamwork.
  11. Produces high quality written work which is grammatically correct and engaging.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Technology diploma from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate field of study or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
  2. Information technology competent across MS Office applications.
  3. Experience in copywriting with a focus on building technologies.
  4. Minimum of three years of work experience in marketing or a related field preferred.
