This Opportunity

Our Toronto location is seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Communications Coordinator to join its dynamic Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the successful candidate will step into a true marketing generalist role, providing brand management support with marketing content, social media advertising and internal communications services for the organization. You will participate in projects from start to finish, focusing on building and communicating the customer brand for one of Canada’s most trusted engineering consulting firms. With offices across Canada and responsibilities that span the entire marketing process, this role encompasses a wide range of marketing communications deliverables.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and update staff biographies and CVs for use in proposals to reflect new hires, transfers, new designations, experience etc. Interview staff and take or collect photos as required to complete these materials.
  • Maintain and update the “smithandandersen.com” and “sa-footprint.com” websites as necessary to best communicate the S+A customer brand.
  • Assist with internal communications services for S+A teams, departments, and leaders.
  • Monitor messages received through websites and social media accounts, bringing them to the team’s attention.
  • Collect photography for standout S+A projects, liaising with photographers and industry partners to coordinate shoots and communicate requirements.
  • Create marketing collateral, including project profiles, brochures and other materials.
  • Ensure all communications align with the writing style guide and obtain appropriate approvals.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with our graphic designers to bring initiatives to life, at times jumping in and designing deliverables yourself where appropriate and practicable.
  • Assist other members of the marketing team when necessary.
  • Order promotional items as required.
  • Work with marketing and communications team members to provide recommendations for marketing and communications alternatives, enhancements, and solutions.
  • Contribute to departmental and organization-wide objectives and goals.
  • Ensure all communications reflect brand attributes and positioning, as appropriate.

Who You Are:

  • One to two years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • University degree or college diploma in communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Ability to create clear and coherent written communication.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including multi-tasking, time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, professional, trustworthy, and diplomatic manner.
  • A curious, never-quite-satisfied mindset, with an eye on continuous improvement both for yourself and your deliverables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Experience with marketing email platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
  • Experience with layout programs (InDesign, Publisher, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Familiarity with website CMS (Wordpress, Drupal, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint 365.
  • Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Zoho, etc.).
