BGC Renfrew County has been providing services to children and youth since 1966. Our mission is to provide safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life.

Our club is one of 85 clubs in the BGC Canada family. Our club, previously known as the Boys and Girls Club of Pembroke, serves some 300 members and 180 families with an annual operating budget of $400,000. Our staff are led by our Executive Director and comprise 3 full-time and 15 part-time staff. One of our goals in our new strategic plan is to expand our services to other communities within Renfrew County, a goal that will be a key focus for our Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator.

Currently, we are accepting applications for the Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator role. This is a full-time position.

Position Overview:

This role will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and fundraising campaigns to support our programs and enhance our visibility in the community. This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to our mission. Key responsibilities include:

Marketing:

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote BGC Renfrew County and its programs.
• Create engaging content for digital platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and the website.
• Manage social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement.
• Design and distribute promotional materials, such as flyers, brochures, and press releases.
• Coordinate with media outlets to secure coverage and build relationships with journalists.

Fundraising:

• Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to generate financial support and raise awareness.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and corporate partners.
• Write compelling grant proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations and government agencies.
• Develop and maintain a donor database, track donations and manage donor communications.
• Analyze fundraising results and provide regular reports to the leadership team.

Additional Roles:

• Collaborate with the leadership team to set strategic goals and objectives for marketing and fundraising efforts.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and fundraising activities, making recommendations for improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure innovative and effective approaches.
• Represent BGC Renfrew County at assigned community events, networking functions, and other public engagements.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a proven track record in marketing and fundraising, particularly within the nonprofit sector. Additional qualifications include:

• Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Experience in marketing, fundraising and grant writing, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
• Proven ability to create compelling marketing materials and successful fundraising campaigns.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• A passion for children’s issues and a commitment to BGC Renfrew County’s mission.

Additional Information:

• Salary $43,225 – $50,960, plus benefits
• Initial two-year contract
• Anticipated start date is April 2025
