The Market Development Manager is responsible for implementing the long-term sales strategy in the assigned territories through insulation technical leadership and driving insulation product specification and penetration. The Market Development Manager will establish a customer base of mechanical engineers, architects, and key stakeholders to develop new opportunities and capture market share to ensure commercial business achievement within focused industrial insulation applications and practices applying this knowledge to educating various stakeholders in relevant applications. Other responsibilities include providing advice to optimize system performance, knowledge on Code compliance, and becoming an insulation technical expert for insulation users throughout the assigned territories and supporting applications such as Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Heavy Industrial applications. Position is remote, ideally based in GTA.
Job Responsibilities
Build preference with engineers, asset owners, etc to develop specifications that create pull-through demand for Armacell.
Maintain specification influence on commercial projects throughout all project stages and coordinate with the rest of the territory sales team to ensure job success.
Provide technical expertise for product, application, Code, and other topics from insulation users throughout the region.
Educate customers on Armacell offerings, highlights and benefits through demonstrations and presentations.
Translate market and customer needs into technical requirements for use by the Marketing department.
Effectively roll out new products into the marketplace and drive branding.
Exceed sales objectives and cross-sell customers through multiple channels.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, in Engineering, Technical Field, or Management preferred.
Bilingual in English and French considered an asset
The ability to read mechanical drawings to identify application and equipment for products.
Knowledge of CUI and field practices for mitigation methods, field knowledge to support product development
The ability to travel up to 50%.
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Salesforce.com, or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
