Job Title: Marine Insurance Manager

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Managing Director of Canada, the Marine Insurance Manager is a key member of the management team. This highly motivated individual is responsible for leading the Marine department to achieve consistent growth and operational excellence. They will focus on business development, strategy execution, and department expansion while maintaining strong collaboration across teams.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the Marine department, ensuring positive year-over-year growth.
  • Conduct regular team meetings in line with company guidelines.
  • Oversee systems management and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with leadership to expand and enhance the Marine Cargo program.
  • Monitor incoming credit applications and ensure timely client follow-ups for Marine Cargo insurance opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate booking of insurance in company systems and maintain efficient workflow processes.
  • Develop and document processes for Marine Cargo operations across divisions (SF/AF/OV).
  • Drive engagement with sales channels through frequent presentations and training on Marine Cargo insurance, ensuring optimal use of online quoting tools.
  • Track and analyze quote metrics by sales channel, conducting follow-ups as needed.
  • Assist with monthly commission reconciliations.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by the company.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
  • Marine insurance experience preferred; strong commercial insurance expertise will also be considered.
  • RIBO license or a willingness to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a department, including strategic planning and execution.
  • Proficient in managing Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities.
  • Strong business development and strategic thinking capabilities.
