This position reports to

Production Development Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to coordinate product and manufacturing engineering projects, provide engineering support and direction for all production departments in order to solve manufacturing problems, improve yield, and product quality. Each day, you will support the business by developing new and innovative ideas in the manufacturing facility supporting the scope and goals of the plant. The work model for the role is: Onsite. This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division at the Manufacturing Facility in Hackettstown, NJ. You will be mainly accountable for:
  1. Developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, equipment and fixtures while continuously improving the production floor through standardizing manufacturing methods.
  2. Performing process capability studies ensuring manufacturing processes are in control and product routing/times are accurate.
  3. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
  4. Provide technical assistance for applicable departments to ensure the smooth operation of processes.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience and 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in process development, and/or lean manufacturing methods desired.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40lbs, perform bending, twisting, reaching motions, pull/push functions and perform repetitive operations. Must be comfortable working with heavy equipment and in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
