We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Assistant - Manufacturing Co-op student for our Manufacturing Engineering department. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering.

Job Summary

As the Manufacturing Engineering Assistant - Manufacturing Co-op, you will report directly to the Director - Switches & Operators & Assistant Manager - Assembly, and utilize your knowledge, excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills to assist in the Manufacturing Engineering Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a passion for manufacturing engineering and wants to gain valuable experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Arrangement:

On-site, 5 days per week on the Day Shift

Work Term:

Winter 2025 (4 Months: Jan - Apr)

Responsibilities

  1. Work on plant layout updates & preparation of work instructions.
  2. Assist in CAPEX projects with Project/Manufacturing Engineers.
  3. Conduct process studies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Work alongside designers and engineers to create and improve fixtures.

Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in a registered post-secondary co-op program in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Available for a 4 month placement for the Winter 2025 Co-op Work Term (Jan - Apr).
  3. Some CAD experience in Solid Edge, Solid Works or AutoCAD.
  4. Some experience working with machines.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
